Is the system working, just not working well, or is it not working at all?

How long have you noticed this has been going on?

Is this your only system in the home or is this for the upstairs or downstairs unit?

Is the system still cooling/heating ok for you or is it not working well since the noise started?

Can you locate if the noise is coming from the indoor or outdoor components?

Is the system leaking water or refrigerant?

refrigerant is a gas not a liquid so if they see liquid then its water
IF LEAKING WATER-
- Is that water leaking from the indoor part of the unit?
  - are they seeing water dripping through a ceiling or water spots on the ceiling?
    - if leaking on the inside unit in an attic or closet-TURN THE UNIT OFF IMMEDIATELY to stop the flow of water

Is it a heavy leak or a drip/trickle?

Is it a steady flow of water?

Is it causing any property damage currently?

Can you get the water shut off to the leak?

Do you know the approximate age of the water heater?

Is this the only toilet in your home?

Are all toilets having issues or just this one?

Did anyone in the home flush anything that shouldn't go in the toilet? (children flushing toys, maxi pads, paper towels)

are you having an issue with any other drains in the home?

Do you already have the equipment you want installed on site?

*Could be faucets, sinks, etc*

is your home the only one on the street affected? (if the power is out from the power company we can't do anything)

are there major appliances not working due to this? (fridge, oven/range, HVAC)

Do you already have the equipment you want installed on site?

*Could be ceiling fans, light fixtures, etc.*
